The History
of The Creams

These first two albums...
..."A
Big Dog.n" and "Lords of the Gromet
Canning Factory", were recorded, mainly by Alan
Jenkins and Blodwyn P. Teabag, before
the band really existed. Then they put a band together to record...
..."Ie",
a comic rock opera about animal rights. This six-piece Creams line up
added Vladimir and Robyn
from The Chrysanthemums, Peter Pengwyn (formerly
from Brighton's Jesus Couldn't Drum) and Alison
Mackinder. They went and performed it live in Germany. Badly.
So then they came home and recorded this...

..."The
Creams and Nico". (Not that Nico). And it was a work
of great genius. So they did this one too...

..."Pluto".
That one was ok, but then the band split up. Alan, Blodwyn and Robyn recorded
this one anyway...

..."Malcolm"
- what they call a "transitionary album". "Malcolm" is a double-mini-CD,
it looks like a big foreign stamp. Then they found a new bass player called
Howard Fairey and went to play in Germany again,
and while they were there they made this...

..."Are
you real or just some sort of disgusting fridge magnet". This
is a recording of the concert in Landsberg, (where they put Hitler in
jail in the 20's and he wrote "Mein Kampf"). Its a cheap production
with some bits of paper and a plastic wallet for selling at gigs. (Our
album, not Mein Kampf). Then they spent a year and a half recording...

..."The
All Night Bookman", which is an epic two-hour double CD with
42 tracks. It is probably the best album ever made in the history
of the world. That was probably about it for The Creams though.
There are two
other live CDs by The Creams...

..."Net
Yangers for the Pizza Froy" (Hannover, 1997) and "Fuck
My Ass" (Hamburg, 1998). But these were made in limited editions
of 8 and given away to people, so they don't count.

The Creams while
we were recording "The All Night Bookman". Clockwise starting
at 11 o'clock: Howard, Blodwyn, Alan and Robyn.

Here's the cover of a forthcoming Creams' CD compliation on the Molokoplus label.
